THE CLIFF
Worldwide reputation. Oceanfront cliff top setting. Chef Paul Owen has won many accolades. A new spacious drinks lounge just opened. Try to get a table on the terrace with views out over the water. DAPHNE'S Paynes Bay
This sister to Daphne's of Chelsea, London is a favourite .Teak furniture and textiles from Bali enhance the lovely beachfront setting Paynes Bay. Wonderful, modern, Italian food. Attentive staff and good wine. 432 5161 429 0599
THE FISHPOT
St Peter. Close by. Relaxed and uncomplicated yet chic. This unusual restaurant set in a small 17th century fort at the waters edge is airy and informal. Chef Stephen Belgrave uses only the freshest ingredients and pumps up the flavour with local seasoning. With the fish market a 10 min drive away the entrees offer tempting dishes fresh from the sea. Holetown. Excellent international and European dishes. All freshly prepared. Enchanting setting, which includes a courtyard, private dining areas and exquisite balconies. After hours the cosy bar becomes a bustling after dinner rendezvous and drinking spot.

Worldwide reputation especially if you read Michael Winner. Sumptuous Sunday lunch which is not overly expensive. A memorable occasion. Wine can be expensive!
